Chevy has been secretive about their 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS which causes people to make speculations, predictions, and rumors about the production of the car. And even though the car has been spotted during many test drive sessions, there haven’t been any exact predictions about the ride. So, what will the ride about?
2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS Speculations
This next generation Z/28 Camaro has been creating fuss and rumors because of the claim that it will be the next beautiful, artistic, and powerful ride from Chevy. And despite the many spy shots of the car caught in actions, no precise speculations have been made. Some people say that the trip is using the V8 engine because of the roaring sound when it is being tested. Initially, people speculated that the V8 SS 6.2 liter engine is responsible for the thundering sound, but it turns out that the ride packs better.
2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS Engine
The new 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS is coming with the V8 7.0 liter engine, which is the original engine design made by the company. There is a good reason why Chevy sticks to such plan. According to Jonny Lieberman, a blogger specializing in the auto industry, Chevy needs to deal with a fierce competitor, like Shelby from Mustang. So it is only reasonable that they need a powerful ride that can match the performance of Shelby GT350. With the 526 hp of power, produced from the V8 5.2 liter engine, Chevy needs to come up with a plan.
And that’s why the Chevy stays with the V8 7.0-liter engine producing in between 540 hp to 565 hp of power. Chevy believes that this engine arrangement is correct and it should be able to deliver a smooth and elegant power, enough to compete with Shelby.
2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS Performance
Now that we have known about the power, what about the appearance and the interior cabin? Well, Chevrolet claims that they are working their best to deliver not only a stylish look but also artistic masterpiece. Interior cabin is promised to be luxurious and exclusive, and there will be new additions of technologies there. The SS type for this Camaro is said to deliver 455 hp of power, able to reach 60 mph within 3.9 seconds only.
This line is expected to come around 2016 in the fall although there hasn’t been any official release from the company. For a starting price, this 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS will cost from $60,000.
